Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Idris Jala has today revealed a 10-point solution to the Bible controversy.

Christians groups are allowed to import the Bibles in all languages, including Bahasa Malaysia/Indonesia without restriction.

“These Bibles can also be printed locally in Peninsula Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak,” he said.

While there is no requirement for the Bibles in Sabah and Sarawak for any stamp or serial number, those in Peninsula Malaysia must have the words “Christian Publication” and the cross sign printed on the front covers.

“I hope this 10-point solution will be received positively by the Christian groups as being fair and reasonable. We have to look for a solution that deals with the Bible issues and also put a way forward to handle other issues raised by the Christian groups,” said Idris.

He conceded that the government and the civil servants are not perfect “as indeed all human beings are ‘beautifully imperfect’ in the eyes of God”.

“And for all our shortcomings in handling the Bible issue, I hope the Christians would find it in their hearts to forgive us.”

organizing committee to remove all statues, no chanting, no Hindu holy
music, no carrying of Kavadi, no breaking of coconuts and anything that suggest it’s a Hindu celebration?

Why?

Because within the week they got to her. Paid her off to keep quiet or rather to changed her story and to tell how good a man he was!

Oh no. We got it all wrong after all.

Hey I know I’m a little late in this.  And the story goes that an aide from the PM’s office gave directives to remove religious symbols, crucifixes and all, and no singing of sacred/religious/Christian songs/hymns/carols. In other words, anything that is related to Christianity has to be removed or stayed out of sight! Why? All because “Najib is coming to town.” And maybe they should ask that the popular Christmas carol’s lyrics be changed to:

You better remove, all the crucifixes,

You better not sing hymns, I’m telling you why

As I’m a Christian many asked what do I think about all this! If it is true that a directive was given to the organizers by the PM’s office, and the organizers consent to their demands, then I am very disappointed with the organizers. Didn’t the Bible teach us not to be ashamed of the Gospel and to take up our cross? What is more significant? Is it to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ or to welcome the PM to the celebration and bow to his wishes? So what is Christmas then? We are no better than how Coca Cola commercialized and make money out of Christmas. With all due respect if you do invite the PM to the tea party, it is only right that you follow protocol. But to remove all religious symbols and not to sing hymns or pray to the One whom we are honoring than it’s not protocol. It’s compromising! Are we to compromise our religion just for the sake of having the PM in attendance!

To make the point a little stronger, by agreeing to the instructions from the PM’s aide, with or without the PM’s knowledge, it is like denying Jesus. How can you say that you are honoring someone’s birthday, when you have to remove everything that is related to him so that your guest won’t feel offended! Who is more important? Jesus, the true reason for Christmas or the one who is invited to celebrate the occasion? What is the Bible verse that says, “Deny me before men and I will deny you before my father in heaven?”

With all this said, the questions are; did the PM’s office gave the instructions? If so, did CFM, the organizers consent to it? It has been very quiet on both sides on this issue and no one really know what is what! But I think the CFM should be the one to come out with the statement once and for all. And we expect nothing but the truth. Hey, the Bible also says :The truth shall set you free”:
