“Why Are You Looking Among The Dead For One Who Is Alive?”

easter2

Very early on Sunday morning the women went to the tomb, carrying the spices they had prepared. They found the stone rolled away from the entrance to the tomb, so they went in; but they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

They stood there puzzled about this, when suddenly two men in bright shining clothes stood by them. Full of fear, the women bowed down to the ground, as the men said to them, “Why are you looking among the dead for one who is alive?

He is not here; he has been raised. Remember what he said to you while he was in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be handed over to sinners, be crucified, and three days later rise to life.’ ”

Then the women remembered his words, returned from the tomb, and told all these things to the eleven disciples and all the rest. The women were Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Mary the mother of James; they and the other women with them told these things to the apostles.

But the apostles thought that what the women said was nonsense, and they did not believe them.
But Peter got up and ran to the tomb; he bent down and saw the grave cloths but nothing else. Then he went back home amazed at what had happened.

The Amazing “Faith”

A Truly Amazing Story of  ‘Faith’

This dog was born on Christmas Eve in the year 2002. He was born with 3 legs - 2 healthy hind legs and 1 abnormal front leg which need to be  amputated. He of course could not walk when he was born. Even his mother did not want him.

His first owner also did not think that he could survive. Therefore, he was thinking of ‘putting him to sleep’. By this time, his present owner, Jude Stringfellow, met him and wanted to take care of him. She is determined to teach and train this dog to walk by himself. Therefore she named him ‘Faith’

In the beginning, she put Faith on a surfing board to let him feel the movements. Later she used peanut butter on a spoon as a lure and reward for him to stand up and jump around. Even the other dog at home also helped to encourage him to walk. Amazingly, only after 6 months, like a miracle Faith learned to balance on his 2 hind legs and jumped to move forward. After further training in the snow, he now can walk like a human being.

Faith loves to walk around now. No matter where he goes, he just attracts all the people around him. He is now becoming famous on the international scene. He has appeared on various newspapers and TV shows. There is even one book entitled ‘With a little faith’ being published about him. He was even considered to appear in one of Harry Potter movies.

His present owner Jude Stringfellew has  given up her teaching post and plans to take him around the world to  preach that even without a perfect body, one can have a perfect soul’.

In life there are always undesirable things. Perhaps one will feel better if one changes the point of view from another direction.

I hope this post will bring fresh new ways of thinking to everyone and that everyone can appreciate and be thankful for each beautiful day that follows.

Faith is the continual demonstration of the Strength of Life

Eli Wong - Who Would Throw the First Stone?

Eli Wong - Who would throw the first stone?

Did she do anything wrong? Is there a moral issue here? Who is the real culprit?

Maybe these are but just a few questions we should all answer before we throw the first stone. Or is there any of us who is blameless to dare to cast the first stone!

There have been many comments and opinions on the issue about the so called nude photos of Elizabeth Wong or Eli Wong.

So really did she do anything wrong? Did she? And as Eli Wong herself declared, she has done nothing wrong. Was she right?

There has been a lot of talk about what she wears to bed or rather what she did not wear to bed. Is wearing a sarong to bed wrong? Or one sleeping naked in the privacy of her own bedroom wrong or “immoral?”

What do you wear to sleep? What you wear to sleep is a matter of choice. Whatever you feel comfortable in bed is not a “moral issue.” Even if you sleep naked in the privacy of your own bedroom doesn’t make one immoral. As long as one does not expose oneself to public, it is an individual choice. The problem here is that, photos of her sleeping in a sarong or partially nude are being made public and that makes her immoral. Read the rest of this entry »

2nd Anniversary As A Laryngectomee

Posted in CITIZEN'S COLUMN, LARYNGECTOMY, LIFE, MALAYSIA, PICTURE TALK, SMILE, THE WORD OF TRUTH on February 12th, 2009

 2nd year as a laryngectomee

Exactly two years ago today I had my laryngectomy surgery. Today is the 2nd anniversary of that 10-hour surgery to remove my larynx , also know as the voice box.

I was diagnosed with laryngeal cancer, commonly called cancer of the throat, at the end of 2005. I went through a 33 courses of radiotheraphy (radiation),  but the treatment didn’t work. In fact it seem to grow the cancer more aggressively 6 months dow the road. I was given another diagnosis and it was confirmed that the cancer has reached stage 4, which is fatal.

I have made significant progress since that faithful day. I have learned to adapt to this “new” lifestyle.  Each day when I wake up, I thank the Lord for yet another day.  There is a reason why the Lord kept me alive here on earth. This is something that I have yet to discover. And looking forward for more fruitful years ahead!

Even though I can’t speak now, God gave me a channel to speak to the whole through this simple blog.  I started blogging a couple of weeks  after the surgery.  And I started to learn to do the stuff I’m doing in my blog (eg. photoshop). Prior to that, I know next to nothing about blogging or “photoshopping.”

There Is a Log In Your Own Eye, Mr Badawi!

Close Gitmo Expand Kamu

Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi wants to bring home two Malaysians held at the Guantanamo Bay detention facility which US President Barack Obama has ordered shut within a year.

“We’d like to bring both of them home so that they could continue to serve their sentences in Malaysia,” Abdullah told state news agencyBernama on Saturday.

“President Obama’s decision must have gone down well with many countries and Malaysia too is happy because he has fulfilled his promise,” he added.

(More from Malaysiakini)

Malaysia is happy that US President Barack Obama has ordered Guantanamo Bay to shut down within a year!

Great! How about our own Kamunting Detention Camp, Mr Badawi? If you can be happy that Guantanamo Bay will be shut down, don’t you think we should do the same here with Kamunting too?

The US is closing Gitmo but Malaysia is expanding Kamunting!

How dare you say to another, ‘Please, let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when you have a log in your own eye?  Clean up your own backyard before trying to clean up others!
