Karpal Singh

LET COPS DECIDE, SO SHUT UP PAK LAH!

Karpal Singh has warned Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and his ministers not to volunteer unsolicited comments that may compromise police investigations into PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim’s alleged sodomy offence. The DAP chairperson said in a statement today that he was shocked by Pak Lah’s challenge to Anwar to prove his innocence in this controversial allegation by giving his DNA sample. “It is elementary that under our system of law, it is not the PM who considers the result of an investigation but the police who are required to put up investigation papers to the Attorney-General.

“It is wrong for the PM to publicly challenge Anwar to disprove the allegation of sodomy against him.

“The PM should hold his piece and not publicly direct and influence police investigation,” he said.  Source Malaysiakini

Just because he is wheel-chair bound doesn’t mean he can be push-over. He may be physically handicapped but his principles are not. He will not be silent. He will speak the truth for justice without fear or prejudice. He did not recieve the name “The Tiger of Jelutong’ for nothing! Yes, he deserved to be in the elite company of The Brave One!

Roar Karpal Roar! The rakyat roars with you! The Eye of The Tiger is watching! “It’s the Eye of The Tiger, it’s the cream of the fight  Risin’ up to the challenge of our rival  And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night And he’s watchin’ us all in the eye of the tiger.”

Eye Of The Tiger

Risin’ up, back on the street
Did my time, took my chances
Went the distance, now I’m back on my feet
Just a man and his will to survive

So many times, it happens too fast
You change your passion for glory
Don’t lose your grip on the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive

Chorus:
It’s the eye of the tiger, it’s the cream of the fight
Risin’ up to the challenge of our rival
And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night
And he’s watchin’ us all in the eye of the tiger

Face to face, out in the heat
Hangin’ tough, stayin’ hungry
They stack the odds ’til we take to the street
For we kill with the skill to survive

Risin’ up, straight to the top
Have the guts, got the glory
Went the distance, now I’m not gonna stop
Just a man and his will to survive

Living On A Prayer

Posted in MUSIC, LIFE, SMILE, MALAYSIA, VIDEO on July 10th, 2008

Atlantuya, Lingamgate, March 8 Elections, SAPP, No-confidence motion against PM, Fuel price hike, Food price hike, Inflation, RPK’s Statutory Declaration against Rosmah, Sodomy allegation against Anwar, Balasubramaniam Statutory Declaration against Najib, Bala Disappearance, you blamed me, I blamed you, you accused me, I accused you, etc, and I’m sure there will be a lot more issues to come. There is no way bloggers can stop blogging with all these issues.

I thought I leave you this song Livn’ On A Prayer by Bon Jovi to encourage all of of us in these strange and uncertain times here in Malaysia. That’s all we got at this moment living on a prayer. Prayer that our nation will turn around and come back to it’s glory again. “Whooah, were half way there Livin on a prayer Take my hand and well make it - I swear Livin on a prayer”

Well, as for me I’ll be taking a short tiny break - but not a strike as some bloggers did! Will be back in a couple of days. We take our cars for services. We go for medical check-up. Well, my notebook needs a service and check up too. It will be resting for a couple days. Till then check the sites at my blogroll and enjoy the music and be encouraged.

Livin’ On A Prayer

Once upon a time
Not so long ago

Tommy (Thamby) used to work on the docks
Unions been on strike
He’s down on his luck…it’s tough, so tough
Gina (Gita) works the diner all day
Working for her man, she brings home her pay
For love - for love

She says we’ve got to hold on to what we’ve got
cause it doesn’t make a difference
If we make it or not
We’ve got each other and that’s a lot
For love - well give it a shot

Chorus:
Whooah, we’re half way there
Livin’ on a prayer
Take my hand and we’ll make it - I swear
Livin’ on a prayer

Tommy’s (Thamby’s) got his six string in hock
Now he’s holding in what he used
To make it talk - so tough, it’s tough
Gina (Gita) dreams of running away
When she cries in the night
Tommy (Thamby) whispers baby it’s okay, someday

We’ve got to hold on to what we’ve got
cause it doesn’t make a difference
If we make it or not
We’ve got each other and that’s a lot
For love - well give it a shot

We’ve got to hold on ready or not
You live for the fight when its all that you’ve got

Correct, Correct, Correct! We have Not Forgotten!

The fuel price hike, SAPP proposed vote of no-confidence against the Premier and the recent Statutory Declaration by RPK claiming that Rosmah, wife of Najib was at the murder scene of Atlantuya, etc etc, have not distracted us from the LingamGate case. We have not forgotten! What is happening to the case? Is the government still sleeping on it again? Here is something to remind you that we have not forgotten! By popular demand here it is again, “Lingam’s Devil Curry.”

Because of TOGETHER, they’re an inspiration to the people arond the world.

Dick and Judy wanted a normal life for their son.

When Rick was 15, he communicate with his dad that he wanted to to participate in a five-mile benefit run.

Dick was not a runner but he agreed to push Rick in his wheelchair.

For the first time in his life, Rick didn’t feel handicapped.

So TOGETHER they run

pete was juggling tomatoes.

bored. so he telephoned a few friends instead. “how about getting together to make an anti-racism song and music video?” all said yes without hesitation. not because pete threatened them with a rusty knife. only because they love malaysia.

the contingent swelled to 52 people a few days later. it included filmmakers, dancers, singers, producers, musicians, actors, entrepreneurs, designers, footballers, activists, celebrities, students and a florist. nobody would be paid. yet they were enthused. not because they were high on speed. only because they love Malaysia.

they gathered to record the song. it had a catchy chorus and was able to induce a mass sing-along. everyone was happy when it was done. they named it ‘here in my home’. then more people joined. the party now included more than 120 people. but the budget remained exactly zero. it seems even the spreadsheet loves malaysia.

everyone turned up for the video shoot. much fun was had and friendships made. video editors went to work after the shoot was done. both the recording and the video would be given away for free. a gift to the nation. from those who love malaysia to those who feel the same.

did you ask what this is all about?

it’s about love.

I Sing, I Dream, I Love, Anyway (Martina McBride)

Posted in MUSIC, LIFE, THE WORD OF TRUTH, SMILE, AROUND THE BLOG, VIDEO on April 23rd, 2008

I just love this song - who doesn’t. The words are so encouraging and challenging. And the song is so pwerful and inspiring. Martina McBride has a fantastic voice and she delivered the song so well. I am not a big fan of country music but she has moved me though her songs. Just makes me cry. The song was inspired from a prayer by Mother Teresa. Here is a clip from American Idol 6. Listen to it with all your heart, ANYWAY

I want to make a difference
I want to be a cancer survivor
I believe I can do anything
I want to give more than I take
I want to feel needed
I need something to believe in
I want to forgive
I want to forget
I want to find a cure
I want to be…

You can spend your whole life building something from nothing
One storm can come and blow it all away
Build it anyway
You can chase a dream that seems so out of reach
And you know it might not ever come your way
Dream it anyway

Chorus:
God is great, but sometimes life ain’t good
And when I pray it doesn’t always turn out like I think it should
But I do it anyway, I do it anyway

This world’s gone crazy and it’s hard to believe
That tomorrow will be better than today
Believe it anyway

You can love someone with all your heart, for all the right reasons,
And in a moment they can choose to walk away
Love ‘em anyway

You can pour your soul out singing a song you believe in
That tomorrow they’ll forget you ever sang
Sing it anyway, yeah sing it anyway

I sing, I dream, I love, anyway

Boycott The Penang World Music Festival?

Posted in MUSIC, LIFE, PICTURE TALK, AROUND THE BLOG, MALAYSIA on April 10th, 2008

Boycott the world music festival?

Should we all boycott the Penang World Music Festival? And why? Read this. Tourism Industry Being Sabotaged?

Some people commented that if we do that the people of Penang will suffer. What suffer? You mean a music festival can do that. What happens if there was never a World Music Festival in the first place?
Anyway, me and my friends were really looking forward to this event, but now we decided to boycott it.  If the Penang Tourism Action Council or PTAC is not going to work or cooperate with the Penang State Government and is folowing  “silent” orders as to sabotage the state government then we will also do likewise to them. In other words, they disregard the state government. Until they learn to work together with the state government and show some respect, I think not only the Penang “Lang” should boycott this event or any other events organized by PTAC, but everybody! Maybe the state government should organize our own Penang Tourism Board and run our own show. Take a stand together Penangites and music lovers!
