The True 1Malaysia

These kids remind me of my childhood days. I used to have a group of friends which consist of a couple of Malays and Indians, a Sikh, and a few Chinese. We never question whether he is Malay, Indian or Chinese. We are all equal. No colors, race or religion. All we understand is that we are “playmates and friends”

Just like these 4 boys. Always see them playing and teasing one another. And whenever I take my dog for a walk, they would all greet me and my dog.

One day, I saw them talking to lady selling cold drinks. They told the lady to give them a free packet of iced drink. They said, they have no money and one packet will do and they can share among themselves. Doesn’t it remind us of our younger days. I used to do that with my friends. We would asked the Indian man selling diluted coconut water for just one free glass and we all would have a sip each. How happy we were. even without money we find happiness in each other.

When I saw them pestering the lady, I told the lady that I would buy all of them a packet each. And you can see the joy and thankfulness in them. Thanking me non-stop. It only costs me RM4 but its all worth it, to be able to see kids today having friends of different race and religion and gelling with each other. As the song says, “In my daughter’s eyes everyone is equal. Darkness turns to light, and the world is at peace”

Yes we could all learn from them.

  1. Bro, hardly people care about the kids on the street,,,, what a small deeds and u had made their day :)

  2. Spot on D……like my time too in Taiping. Any news about the vandalised billboard.

  3. I remember these moments too! Where did they go? What happened to that Malaysia? What a pity that the youth of today do not know what it is to live and love without all the racism and religious barriers.

    Good one, Daniel!
