“Lim Kopi-O!” In Penang
I was late for the 1 Black Malaysia Kopi-O session at Old Town White Coffee in Bayan Baru, Penang. Arrived there around 10.30pm! Met a group of black T-shirts young people sitting next to me. One of them in the group, Shu Zhi from Suaram came over and introduced herself to us and we began to chat. Then Eng Kiat, the USM student who was arrested in one of the vigils recently in Penang came over and join us. He then told us about his experienced in the police lock-up. It’s really good to meet up with these guys.
As I look around, I did see some people in black but not sure whether they are there for the Kopi-O session or just another customer. After all black is a popular color.
And I noticed that the duty manager of Old Town was observing the group of people in black. Don’t what’s on his mind. Was he told to keep an eye on anybody in black!
I understand that they will meet again next week again, same place, same time for “yam cha!” or “lim kopi-O!” Hope to see more people there.
The men and women in black!
