“Unwell” - How Convenient!

Arrest warrant for Changkat Jering rep

The Ipoh Magistrate’s Court this morning issued a warrant of arrest against Changkat Jering representative Mohd Osman Mohd Jailu for failing to turn up for his corruption trial. His sister told the court that he was unwell but failed to produce a medical certificate on his behalf.

Behrang assemblyperson Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi also failed to turn up for the trial. He however produced a MC.The two state representatives have left PKR to become Independents and have thrown their support behind Barisan Nasional in Perak.

As result BN has been able to take the control of the state, also with the support of a defector from DAP.

Jamaluddin and Mohd Osman face 16 charges, including allegedly soliciting or accepting bribes of between RM400 and RM100,000 during a two-week period between Aug 6 and 19 last year.

Both are expected to be at the swearing-in of state exco members at Istana Iskandariah in Kuala Kangsar at 10am today.

Meanwhile the court postponed the hearing to Feb 15 and 16.

This is just too hard to believe. Conveniently on the day to turn up for their corruption charges - they felt ill, they were UNWELL! Not only one of them, but both!

The same reason was reason was given when they went missing before they defected over to the other side.

But they became well again when Najib made the announcement about the takeover of Perak. And they were all there standing behind, besides and one was even in front of Najib!

Pray tell, the judge is not so dumb to believe that they were “unwell.” The judge issued a warrant of arrest for Changkat Jering representative Mohd Osman Mohd Jailu because he could not produce a MC, but excuse Behrang assemblyperson Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi who also failed to turn up for the trial because he can produced a MC!

Hello, everyone knows that is not that difficult to get a MC. Maybe the MACC should probe the doctor who issued the MC.

And why they were “unwell?” My guess is as good as everyone! Najib belum “kow tim” how to get them off the hook yet!

Just wonder whether both of them turn up for the swearing in of the “new exco” of Perak!

Updates: 3.15pm

After I’ve posted the above, I read in the NST that in actual facts both haved no intention of attending the corruption hearing today from the beginning. This is what has been reported.

IPOH: Two former Pakatan Rakyat assemblymen accused of corruption are expected to absent themselves from attending the hearing of the charges at the Sessions Court here today.

Instead, Behrang assemblyman Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi and Changkat Jering assemblyman Mohd Osman Mohd Jailu, who have shied away from public appearances since their disappearance two weeks ago, are expected to join BN assemblymen at the swearing-in of state executive councillors at Istana Iskandariah in Kuala Kangsar.

“They were not too well. Perhaps they will produce an MC (medical certificate),” said counsel Abdul Roni Abd Rahman, who will now represent the two instead of the team of 11 lawyers who represented them earlier.

Roni said he could not contact his clients but did not expect them to appear in court today.

“If there is a swearing-in ceremony at the palace, they would probably not turn up in court,” he said.

More from NST

So they are not well or what? Not well to attend the court hearing but well enough to attend the swearing-in of the Perak new Exco! If you read the above it is quite confusing.

What is the real reason that they did not show up at the court? Is it that there are not well, (which the counsel seems to know ahead) or is it that they have to attend  the swearing in? If it is the latter, then they have shown disrespect for the court! Attending the swearing-in takes over the priority of  of the court case.

And now the case has been postponed to June 15.  I guess that will give them ample time to “kow tim” whatever needs to be settled!

(Note: For you information, I didn’t buy the NST newspaper. It was provided by this cafe where I was having my pearl barley and blogging. Will write about this place soon)

  3. hmm… there’s some error in my precious posting.. it is suppose to be :

hey jarod, i agree that rm20 can buy MC but i disagree that rm20 can settle everything, because i dun think rm20 can persuade all these “unwell” people to quit pkr and be a “bn-friendly” independant… agree? hehe… chilled

  4. The one who produced MC apparently had a heart attack!
Did you notice after lompat the 2 traitors changed lawyers??? Provided as part of the lompat package by BN? Sure win lah! Are they going to change the magistrate too?

  5. Hi Jarod and Curious. Yes, RM20 can get you a MC. But the court should also read what the lawyer said the day before. They have no intention of appearing in court if there is a swearing-in of the “new” Exco. And the MACC should probe the doctors who issued the MCs. It was all premeditated.

Yes Penag. It’s all scripted. Now all they need is 1 lawyer who can “kow tim” everything.
