Yesterday DAP had their victory dinner at the Han Chiang School ground. This is the largest dinner gathering ever in Penang, if not Malaysia. 1,000 tables!!! The sight is just awesome! The who and whos of the Penang “towkays” were all there. The rich, the poor, the Malays, Indians and the majority Chinese supporters were there all there. Yes, 10,000 strong.

Han Chiang School ground was the venue where 60,000 supporters gathered for the DAP Wrap-Up Rally on March 6, before the GE ‘08.

The speakers for the evening were, YBs Chow Kon Yeow, Teresa Kok, Karpal Singh, Lim Kit Siang and the CM of Penang Lim Guan Eng all from DAP. And the surprised guest speaker was none other than Former Law Minister Zaid Ibrahim! When Teresa Kok introduced and invited him to the podium, the crowd gave him a thunderous applauds. Which Umno member would dare to attend a DAP function, let alone being an invited speaker! Him being at the DAP Victory dinner here in Penang and also at the PKR annual congress today indicates that “something is up.” After all he is still an Umno member.
