I have highlighted this issue about OKU parking lot in my previous posts, OKU Parking Lots Invaded and OKU Parking Lots Invaded (II). But still I noticed that the community just don’t bother about it. Or atleast some in the community. It’s just the same. Everytime I see OKU Parking Lots, cars are parked there and mind you, they are NOT, I repeat NOT OKU cars. Or atleast that’s what I can see - NO OKU car sticker on the windscreen or anywhere on the car. And these abled bodies just don’t bother, they deliberately parked their cars there. Are we Malaysians so inconsiderate and careless people. Whatever happened to our civic-mind? Maybe some of them are OKU in a way. Yes, I guess some could be OKU in the mind and heart! Please leave those allocated parking lots to the disabled bodies - eventhough they might be empty, just park your car elsewhere. There might be one OKU on the way there.

Recently, I visited Jusco at Bandar Perda. Cars are parked on the OKU lots, (just because they are nearer to the entrance), even though there are many other parking space. That’s our mentality - Kiasu mentality! As I have said before, it’s no point of allocating the OKU parking lots if the authority doesn’t impose any action for those inconsiderate, selfish, errant car drivers who parked there!

PLEASE RESPECT THE OKU! Be a civic-minded Malaysian!

But on the other hand, there are people who cares. This Indian barber shop at Fettes Park, Penang is giving free hair-cut to the Orang Kurang Upaya (OKU), unlike others who steal from the OKU their parking lots. We need more civic-minded people like these who are concerned about the less fortunate. They make Malaysia a better place. God bless your soul, brother!
