ISA Protest Continues In Penang

Malaysia Bebas Dari ISA

I missed the last two candle-light vigils here in Penang due to some personal commitments. So I make it a point not to miss this one.  It’s so wonderful to see a strong 250 plus people turned up in support to call for the abolishment of ISA. It was a peaceful crowd but with a ardent commitment to end this Draconian Law.

Many wrote their message and signed on a large banner with “Mansuhkan ISA” printed on it. I overheard an elderly man telling his friends after signing on the banner, “If I’m held under ISA, make sure you come and visit me!” The man was so brave and proud to put his signature on the banner, eventhough the thought of ISA runs through his mind.

(To that elderly man if you are reading this: “No, you will not be arrested under ISA for putting your signature on the banner. Instead you’ll be helping to get the people held under ISA freed and and a hope that ISA will be abolished!”)

Fight the good fight of faith. Keep the fire of faith burning, Penangites! And all Malaysians! We will overcome!
