Interesting Comment On The Article “Badawi Resigns, Najib Takes Over.”

I recieved this comment on the article “Badawi Resigns, Najib Takes Over”  from I Spy. Thought I’ll post it here. An interesting theory…

Comment from I Spy:

Pak Lah is smart and very sly. He is not going to give up the PM to Najib while under pressure. It is a known fact he does not like Najib and only tolerates him . He chose Najib as a DPM because he has dirt on Najib. Do not spend too much time reading into PaK Lah but watch Khairy\’s wheeling and dealing with Anwar. Khairy is throwing the support behind Anwar and to stay relevant. He will not show his hand but have his people support Anwar. In the mean time as soon as Umno is out of power he will consolidate his power in UMNO by instigating a witch hunt. Najib and the others who plotted against Pak Lah will be surrendered to Anwar with evidence to prosecute them in court. These senior UMNO plotters when convicted and will be bar from political office. He will rebuild UMNO and will have UMNO allied with PR has a strategic partner. MCA/MIC/Gerakan and other BN parties will be left high and dry if by this time they have not gone over to PR.

Khairy knows once he has made UMNO strong and he can bid for power in PR as a strategic partner. This is the only way for Khairy to survive. Do not write off Khairy. Read the Anwar\’s PR statements that the BN MPs do not necessary need to cross over to support the PR government. This way Khairy keeps UMNO intact and mold into a progressive party in the mold of PKR. UMNO will remain a Bumiputra party but the UMNO constitution will be change to bar racial politics and statements by UMNO members. In 2 or 3 years Khairy will made a bid for PM with the blessing of PR.He will prove that UMNO without the racist will be an asset to PR and the people. Read the rest of this entry »

“Futur” With My Middle Eastern Brothers - Sunday Special

Posted in FOOD, LIFE, PICTURE TALK, MALAYSIA, SUNDAY SPECIAL on September 21st, 2008

This week I was invited to join a Libyan friend and his family to “futur” with them. And in the same week, I had another futur with a group of Middle Eastern brothers of whom I have known for more than 4 years, and they are real “buddies.” They are all doing their PhD program here at USM.  (Oops! By the way, “futur” in Arabic simply means breaking fast.)

And also just in case not to confuse you, I’m not a Muslim. I’m a Christian, but I make it a point to breakfast with my Muslim brothers whenever I can during Ramadhan.

So this week Sunday Special will just feature Middle Eastern food. The Libyan meal is courtesy from my Libyan friend and the “Penang” Middle Eastern Food - well, all I can say is, I tried!

Badawi Resigns, Najib Takes Over

Disaster movie

“Why Badawi did not want to meet with Anwar?”  This is not a million dollar question.

Badawi has been saying that Anwar doesn’t have the numbers. That he is a liar, who is trying to deceive the people. It’s just a mirage and a dream. Is it?

Why then did he refuse to entertain Anwar?  Isn’t it an opportunity to dispute Anwar’s claim that he has the numbers once and for all? This is an opportunity to put Anwar to shame and prove himself right that Anwar is a liar. So why didn’t he not grab it? After all he is so convinced that there will be no crossover and all the talks are preposterous.

In fact, by refusing to meet Anwar to discuss the issues, he has convinced the world that Anwar do have the numbers.

Ok, I have another theory. It might sound far out, but hey…, this is politics! Anything is possible in politics.

You see, Badawi is not as bodoh as most of us think he is. Or is he? Anyway, the reason he refuses to meet Anwar is because he knows Anwar has the numbers, as we all agreed. But then that’s not all. Since he knows Anwar got the numbers and he knows that after meeting Anwar he has no choice but to turn over the reign to him. He will then have to go down in history as the first Prime Minister  to be kicked out while in office. Malu lol! Read the rest of this entry »

Zaid Ibrahim - The Brave One

Zaid Ibrahim - The Brave One

Zaid sticks to ‘quit’ decision, open to joining PKR

Barely six months after being appointed as a minister, a disappointed Zaid Ibrahim has reached the point of no return. Even the prime minister has failed to dissuade him from reconsidering his decision to resign.

And the straw which broke the camel’s back was last Friday’s Internal Security Act arrest of three individuals, which Zaid, the de facto law minister, had condemned.

At a press conference in his office at the Prime Minister’s Department attended by scores of journalists this morning, the outgoing minister said he will not reconsider his decision to quit and conceded that he has failed in his task to convince the government to initiate legal reforms.

“I am not tired. I am just disappointed. My decision to quit remains. I will resign,” he said in a tone which barely hid his disenchantment.

“I think I have failed to convince those in authority to effect changes on how the government should move forward,” added the 58-year-old politician who left a successful legal practice to serve in the Abdullah Ahmad Badawi’s government.

Teresa Kok freed

Teresa Kok released after being held under the Internal Security Act (ISA) after one week. Praise God!

Let us give thanks to God for answering our prayer. God is a God of justice. He will not let the innocent be punished. Let us continue to tarry, and continue to pray for the release of RPK, and the Hindraf Five and all who are detained. Let us pray that the draconian law of ISA will be abolished completely. Let us trust God and believe that justice will previal.

Anti-ISA Protest At Gurney, Penang

Posted in LIFE, PICTURE TALK, MALAYSIA, NEWS on September 17th, 2008

Another Anti-ISA Protest in Penang today. This time the candle-light vigil for the ISA detainees was organised by DAP, held at the Penang famous tourist spot - Gurney Drive!

I was there at about 8pm - an hour early. Got the wrong info on the time. Anyway I went over to the hawker’s centre there and got myself a pack of  Penang famous “Muar Chee.”  Yea, by the way, every stall there has this phrase on their display - “Penang Famous …” Everything is famous in Penang, including politics! Twice this state was won by the opposition - once by Gerakan until they decided to join BN, now by Pakatan Rakyat!

While waiting for the gathering to start I heard overheard a malay guy talking to a chinese man who sells toys on a make-shift stall along the promenade. “Lim Guan Eng akan datang sini pukul sembilan!” Both of them got so excited and started talking about LGE. The chinese guy said he should get LGE to autograph on his shirt and hang it on his stall! Endorsed by LGE! Another man said maybe you should ask him to get a license for you to set up a stall legally.

At exactly 9pm, the crowd just came from nowhere and filled that corner of Gurney.  The DAP supporters started distributing candles to the people around. A man commented to the supporter that the wax will burn his hand - need a holder. The DAP supporter the told him, what is a bit of hot wax compared to what Teresa Kok and RPK is going through now! And the people around nodded their heads in agreement. And of course they did distributed the candle holder lah!

(Families and children. Never to young to learn about justice and human rights!)

As I was standing near the road, a disable guy on a four-wheeled bike rode in next to me. He then make a call on his mobile phone to someone, telling that he is here. And the person he was talking to turn out to be Liew Chin Tong, the MP for Bukit Bendera. Liew then came over and talked him. Read the rest of this entry »
