The Making Of “Borek”

Ezam Mohd Noor The Borek

Former PKR leader ‘not surprised’ by sodomy claim (Source: Malaysiakini)

A former staunch supporter of PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim today claimed that he was not surprised by the fresh sodomy allegations against the charismatic politician.

Declining to shed more light on this cryptic remark, Ezam Mohd Noor (centre) said: “I’m not surprised. I have no reasons to be surprised … I will explain at the right time.”

Why is he not surprised by the sodomy allegation? Why explain later?  The way he phrased it is like he knows Anwar is capable of committing the act. Sodomy is a private thing. You don’t do it in the open and let the world see. It’s between two persons, oops! or isit three? The way I read the statement is like he knows or had witnessed Anwar committing the act personally.  That will make him an accessory to the act. Or is it he had been victimized too.

The former PKR Youth chief - who spent years struggling for Anwar’s release from corruption and sodomy charges following his unceremonious sacking in 1998 - was speaking to reporters after filing a report with the Selangor Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) in Shah Alam on a separate matter.

Ezam, who recently rejoined Umno after quitting the party a decade ago, also dismissed the possibility of the latest charges being politically motivated.

In the past, Ezam vehemently denied the sodomy charges against Anwar but this time around, he skirted the question on whether he still held the same position in light of the fresh allegations.

So now why did he believe or not surprise that the allegation to be true, when the last time he defended Anwar. This is a chameleon act. You change your color according to you environment.

“Any new case has to be looked into separately. I have no idea and no information (about the latest allegation). This is between the accuser, the accused and god. I’ll leave it at that,” he said.

Please leave God out of it. God has nothing to do with the allegation. Saiful is the one making the allegation, let him answer. And if you have no idea and information about – why comment?

He also felt that a conspiracy theory was not applicable in this case.

“Even if there is any political attempt to suppress Anwar, this won’t happen. They won’t resort to sodomy allegations. It not only gives problems to Anwar but also the government.

“Why should we use sodomy allegations? This is not a political problem. This is a personal problem. It is about morality. To me, Anwar should not relate this issue to his plans to contest or his political career,” he said.

Shut up, Borek! You think we are kids? Don’t make stupid statements, lah! Of course it is about morality – which idiot don’t know that! But does that mean that it was not politically motivated? “Why should “we” (now you used the term “we” – Borek again) use sodomy allegations?” I thought you are the smart one. Everybody knows that Anwar had been accused and charged with sodomy before. So his previous sodomy charges with this new allegation will tie in together. In other words, he had the same charge before. A police record! The people will say. “oh he is doing it again, I’m not surprise” Just like a drug addict. If you have been convicted of drug abused whether you innocent or not, and  have been found guilty, and  if you have been charged again on the same charge – whether you are innocent or not – the court will find your guilty because you have a previous record! I know, I was there in that position before. It’s your words against the police. Who would the magistrate believe?

However, Ezam refused to comment when asked how well he knew of Anwar’s ‘morality’.
Maybe the question should be about his own morality.

Ezam claimed that he had spoken to Umno leaders, including Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and his deputy Najib Abdul Razak, and was certain that there is no political conspiracy.

Oh yea. Even if it is a political conspiracy they would tell you. This is a joke! Anyway, not many people will believe what you say now. You know why? People don’t trust you and that no one really knows which side you are on. One day here, next day there.  And furthermore, why should you be making statements at all. You are just an ordinary Umno member. Trying to get some cheap publicity! Borek now. Maybe we should ask about his (Ezam) morality.

Oh by the way, when RPK made a Statutory Declaration that Rosmah was present with two others when the body of Mongolian translator, Atlantuya Shariibuu was disposed of, why then did Najib Razak conclude that, in his own words -”it is a desperate and pathetic attempt to discredit and taint my political image. That’s all.”  Why conclude that is politics?

And like Muhyiddin said; “it’s about law, not politics!” That’s exactly what the Statutory Declaration is all about - the law, murder in cold blood, not politics!

On Saturday, Anwar’s former aide Saiful Bukhari Azlan, 23, alleged in a police report that he was forcibly sodomised by his employer in a condominium in Bukit Damansara.

Anwar has maintained his innocence and claimed that Saiful’s accusations were a “complete fabrication.”
