Molest case: ‘Datuk Seri’ gives statement to policeA former cabinet minister, implicated in a molest case, has given a statement to facilitate police investigations yesterday, according to Bernama.

The VIP was alleged to have molested a hotel assistant supervisor at a luxury hotel near the Kuala Lumpur Sentral Station on April 14.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Muhammad Sabtu Osman said the man, who carries the title “Datuk Seri”, had his statement taken at 11am, but declined to state the venue.

According to Muhammad Sabtu, police will continue to investigate although the victim has retracted her police report.

Besides other eyewitnesses, the victim will also be called in to assist in their investigations, said Muhammad Sabtu. More From Malaysiakini

And they keep us in suspense in regards to who this ‘Datuk Seri’ is. This is something I can’t understand. Call me ignorant, duh, slow, whatever lah but why can’t the police disclose the name of the guy who is implicated on the molest case? Why? Because he is a ‘Datuk Seri?’ Or because he was a former cabinet minister?

I was just thinking about the recent April 14 PKR gathering duped as the Black 14. It is said that a report was made on the gathering, saying that it was illegal.  Now the police acted on it immediately and 4 people were hurled in for questioning the next day. The police disclosed the names of the organizers to the press with no problem. Photos of the four were even released by the media. Furthermore, this is just an alleged illegal gathering report. Not rape, murder or kidnapping case. So what is the difference between this molest case and the illegal gathering case?  Mind you those who were asked to give statements for the illegal gathering were not just ordinary folks. One is a Menteri Besar with a Tan Sri title and another is a Datin Seri Dr. Yet their names were disclosed. So why won’t they disclose the name of the “Datuk Seri?’

Sorry, I am just an ordinary guy on the blog. Maybe there is something I missed out or no aware of. Like I said maybe I’m just ignorant about all these - but why can’t they just disclose the ‘Datuk Seri’s’ name, when they can disclosed the names of the organizers of the 14 April gathering?

Updates: Yep, news from bloggers that the “Datuk Seri” is former Science and Technology Minister and current Member of Parliament for Rompin Datuk Seri Dr Jamaluddin Jarjis. But the police has yet to confirm that! And the press has yet to publish about it! C’mon Mr Policeman, Pressman let the public know - remember TRANSPARENCY???
