Hindraf 5 Conspiracy - “Let Them Go!”

Sami - I am Lucu

Release the Hindraf 5 Boys? Can you believe your ears, especially when it comes from the mouth of Samy Vellu! Why now, Sámi? Isn’t it a bit too late? And why the sudden changed of heart?

When asked if that’s a publicity stunt - he denied it. He said it was done out of fairness and sympathy. Now he is speaking a different language. Before that he called them ‘criminals.’ They were branded as gangsters and even terrorists. And now he says, “I don’t want them to be kept inside.” What a load of craps!

Let me just highlight from Malaysiakini, some of the statements he made apart from the above:

“The government has to make a decision. Kenghadharan is very sick, Manoharan is an elected member. So I think it is quite reasonable. I am going to ask PM (to release them) and meet the Internal Security Minister (Syed Hamid Syed Albar). - so sympathetic and compassionate

“At the same time, we feel that as Indians, we have to do something about this.” – since when did he feel that he is Indian. If he is, he would have listened to the grievances of the Indians and marched along with the Hindraf Boys! That you would have done something that makes the Indians proud you. Not now!

“I made some moves on this earlier, but I didn’t tell anybody. I will now make a very strong move to see what can be done,” - Listen to this again, “I made some moves on this earlier, but I didn’t tell anybody.” – I get goose pimples reading that statement.

Hey, doesn’t he feel like a hypocrite making all those statements? I guess he didn’t, he is so use to it by now. He does sound like a whited sepulcher though! If he really meant what he said, God must have touched his life and he has made a 180 degree turnaround. He must have turned religious and repented! He sounds like a pussycat now. It is just so unlike him! Whatever happened to that Samy Vellu we knew. Bring him back, he is more real apart from the toupee, hehe!!! Now we have a Sami Valium! So humble and modest, full of compassionate and what a joke!

Hypothetically speaking, this is what I think it is. It is a definitely a politically motivated to save face lah! Abdullah Badawi is under pressure to release the 5 Hindraf Boys. That was the “message” of the people in the March 8 Election. So he got to cook up something. So what to do? Here is the plot: Read the rest of this entry »

T- Bowls

I went out for lunch and movie with my friend’s kids (not really kids anymore) yesterday. I literally saw them grew up before my eyes from the day they were born. Now they are about 18 years old and the other about 22, I think. I used to take care of Shaun when he was born. Baby-sit him, changed his nappies, ride him on the carrier on my bike to nursery school and kindergarten and was his playmate while the mum and dad were at work. Used to carry him around with me but now he can carry me around instead –haha! And Janis, the youngest, the princess of the family was like a tomboy but now she has grown up to be a beautiful young lady. And in between, there are the twins – Evan and Ivan, always get confused about their identity – even now (sigh!)

We had lunch at TGIF in QueensBay (some called it Queens, I called it QB) Mall, Penang. When I saw the prices on the menu I wished TGIF means Thank God It’s Free! or Today’s Grub Is Free! instead of Thank God It’s Friday! Anyway Friday is just another day, we should be thanking God for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday as well. So we should have TGIM, TGIT, TGIW, TGIS too.

Anyway, after lunch we went to watch a movie, a crazy movie lah “Ah Long PTE.LTD.”I love that guy Mark Lee, he is so crazy and he’s really good. Good thing they have a decent subtitles in English as I don’t understand Mandarin. They laughed, I laughed. Good thing they didn’t cry – coz then I would have no idea why I should cry too, hehe!!! Anyway, check out the movie.

Ok before the movie, I saw this cool restaurant near the cinema. Not sure if it is a restaurant or restroom, it’s called T-Bowl – hehe! It is one of its kind. It’s a concept restaurant but I’m not sure what concept it might be! Heard the idea was conceived by some Japanese and owned by them. I believed that, coz only the Japanese are crazy enough to come up with this type of concept. You sit on toilet bowl (that’s why it’s called T-Bowl) and eat on a bathtub! Really? Can you believe it? I must say this is really very creative but then wouldn’t it makes you feel like you want to“poo poo?” Ooops! I forgot to check out whether the seats can be lifted up! If it can, that would be awesome! Gross!

A New Career For Badawi?

Posted in LIFE, SMILE, PICTURE TALK, AROUND THE BLOG, MALAYSIA on March 29th, 2008

Badawi - I will survive

– PUTRAJAYA, March 18 (Bernama) — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi today dispelled rumours of plans to pass a vote of no confidence against him, saying that he had the strong support of Umno.

– Two refuse to serve as deputy ministers and there is talk of moves to oust the party leader
Meanwhile, more manoeuvring in Umno raised further
doubts about Datuk Seri Abdullah’s ability to hold the party together.

– DE FACTO opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim is cementing an official alliance as he tries to attract enough government lawmakers to defect to the opposition, in a bid to topple Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

– The DAP wants Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to be the alternative prime minister and help transform Malaysia into becoming a healthy functioning democratic country.

– Tengku Razaleigh had recently distributed letters to all Umno divisions and branch heads, urging them to utilise a section in the party’s constitution to call for a special Umno EGM on May 11, the party’s anniversary, to discuss the dismal polls performance.

– KUALA LUMPUR (AP) - FORMER leader Mahathir Mohamad’s son is telling Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to resign after the ruling party suffered massive losses in weekend elections.

– Laman portal pro UMNO MyKMU.net, semalam menerbitkan satu petisyen untuk meminta Presiden UMNO dan Pengerusi BN Dato’ Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi untuk meletak jawatan dan berundur:

“There are no plans to resign,” Abdullah’s spokesman, Kamal Khalid said. “He still has plans to proceed to the palace tomorrow morning to take the oath of office.”

– KUALA LUMPUR (AFP): Malaysia’s former premier Mahathir Mohamad said Sunday his successor Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has “destroyed” the ruling coalition after disastrous weekend elections. He suggested Abdullah should resign, and said he had made a mistake in selecting him as prime minister.

Looks like Badawi is in a pressure cooker. Mukhriz Mahathir sent a letter to him and asking him to resign. Tengku Razaleigh wants to challenge him for the UMNO presidency. Anwar just waiting at the corner for the right time to come in.  An Umno portal circulating petition demanding his resignation. And Mahathir said he made a mistake by selecting Badawi as Prime Minister. And the list goes on.

Have you ever wondered what will happen to Badawi if he resigns or forced to step down? Or say he goes into retirement now? I mean what will he be doing. We know what Sami is doing, hehe!!!

Well, I guess he will get a chairmanship position in one of the Umno related companies. Maybe chairman of UEM! Can’t be Petronas because Mahathir is there already. Or maybe he might completely leaves politics behind and embarks on a more exciting career, which can also brings fame and money. Maybe this is what he will do.

CHECK THIS OUT! BADAWI’S NEW CAREER!!!

Boycott The Beijing Olympics?

Posted in LIFE, PICTURE TALK, AROUND THE BLOG, CITIZEN'S COLUMN on March 26th, 2008

Should the world boycott The Beijing 2008 Olympics?

Is the Olympic games a place for protest?

Will the boycott solve the situation in Tibet? Or for that matter, will it solve anything now or in the near future?

Are all the Olympics a force of good?

Are the Olympics an arena for sports or politics?

These are some of the questions to be answered.

 Beijing Olympics 2008

Boycott Beijing
The Olympics are the perfect place for a protest.

The Four Invisible Indelible Ink Smugglers!

Posted in LIFE, AROUND THE BLOG, MALAYSIA on March 25th, 2008

Indelible Ink

[Several NGOs in Penang want the Attorney General to charge the four suspects, who were allegedly arrested with illegal possession of smuggled indelible ink during the recent general election campaign, in court immediately.

Malaysian Voters Union coordinator BK Ong said that the police should not conveniently forget about the case and sweep it under the carpet just because the election was over and the people were not talking about it.

He added it was imperative for the police to produce them in court, charge them and show evidence in an open trial for the people.] Malaysiakini

 ________________________________________

Will we ever see the four IndeliblE Ink Smugglers? Or do they really exist at all? Or just is it some imagination figures in our minds? Or is it just another make-up story to cover-up for the cancellation of the use of the indelible ink during the 12th General Election?

I would have thought that the police would be so proud that they have uncovered a plot by certain quarters who had purchased indelible ink from abroad with the intention of creating confusion and suspicion as to the status of voters. And I would have thought that they would publicized in the media about the ‘big’ catch - and that would bring some credit to the police for their dilligent hard-work. But this time around, all has been very, very quiet about this case - if there is such a case! And even if and when they do produce the four suspects, will we ever see their faces or will they cover or hide their faces with jackets or hoods like the two suspects in the Altantuya Murder Case? (hmmm… btw, whatever happened to that case eh?)

A friend said, “Aiya, just roped in four more Mat Rempits and pretend to charge them in court - then they will be freed after the the court discharged them for some technicality paperwork by the DPP. And then just give them a bike each as a payment.”

Seriously, why didn’t the police charge the four indelible ink smugglers? Where are the four suspects?  To answer those questions; only God and the Election Commission chief Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman, Attorney General Abdul Gani Patail and Inspector General of Police Musa Hassan and maybe PM Abdullah Badawi only know. Looks like the public will never know. Or do we have the making of The Four Invisible Indelible Ink Men!

Mamak, Nasi Kandar and Politics?

Posted in LIFE, PICTURE TALK, AROUND THE BLOG, MALAYSIA, VIDEO on March 24th, 2008

Mamak Nasi Kandar

The last week or so there has been a lot of ‘hoo hoo hah hah’ about boycotting from eating at the mamak nasi kandar shops. [The snub is purportedly to punish Indian Muslims for taking part in a street protest on March 14 to demand that new Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng withdraw his plans to abolish an affirmative action programme which favours the Malays. - THE STRAITS TIMES ] Malaysia today

I spoke to a few friends and they told me that they really did boycott from eating at the mamak shops. One of them told me that he always go to the mamak nasi kandar restuarant to have his dinner and watch the EPL games there. Now he have his dinner elsewhere then goes back home to watch the games. But then he said it’s no fun to watch the games by himself. When a goal is scored, there is no one for him to cheer or shout with. Well, you can’t have the best of both worlds!

Another friend told me, “Why boycott lah? You just order one ‘teh tarik’ and you can sit there the whole night and watch your favourite football matches?” Good point! And a typical Penang Kiasu Leng! And this guy voted for DAP - he told me so.

Another friend told me, it makes no difference to him. He seldom go to the mamak stall as the food there are always recycled and left there for hours and hours. Even if he goes there, it’s just to have a teh tarik. Nothing to do with the March 14 protest march.Well, should you boycott or not? That’s the question. Read the rest of this entry »
