I watched this movie about this lady, a radio talk show presenter, who was about to marry to a good looking surgeon. As they were preparing for the wedding, something tragic happened to them. They were viciously beaten by some gangsters for no reason, and she was badly wounded and the fiancé was killed. After her recovery, she bought a gun, seeking revenge on the people who killed her fiancé. In the process, she killed a robber, two black guys in the subway, a pimp and a mobster. She then met a detective who was assigned to those cases and they became friends not knowing that she did it. Later on he remembered that she was the lady who was badly bashed up by the gangsters and that his fiancé was killed, he asked her how did she managed to cope with what had happened to her. She simply said, “I changed into another person.” And the story goes on to show how she managed to track down the murderers.
I was thinking to myself about what she said; “I changed into another person.”
Sometimes as we go through life - situations, circumstances and people, make us changed. We changed so we can learn from our experienced. We changed to adapt to our new environment. We changed to protect ourselves. We changed so that we could live a better life. We changed to better ourselves. We can never go through life and pretend that our hurts, adversities and ordeals had never happened. That would be denial. Read the rest of this entry »
Here I’m again. a thousand apologies for those who have been visiting my blog – sorry for the long absence. And for those who are visiting for the first time – welcome to my humble blog.
Two reasons why I’ve not been blogging; One, I went for a short break. Two, my computer went to visit the clinic to get rid of some unwanted virus or whatever.
As I was away, visiting friends in the other states of Malaysia, I realized that it’s hard to please the Penang “lang” or Penangites when it comes to food. I can never find food that is satisfying to me. Friends took me here and there and tell me this or that is the best rojak or the best chendol or the best otak otak, but after eating it I realized that it is nothing compared with what we have in Penang. (My apology to all the people in the other states of Malaysia – no insults meant) Just that we are so blessed with all the wonderful food here in Penang that no matter where we go we can never be satisfied. You seldom hear of people of Penang talking about food from other states, but people from all over Malaysia and even Singapore will come for holiday in Penang for one reason; Penang food. Penang is always the choice destination for a food adventure. Plenty of good and delicious hawker food stalls everywhere. And you will be sure of getting the best roadside street food to the topnotch cuisine of Chinese, Malay, Indian and of course our signature nyonya baba food.
Whenever my friend and his family come back to Penang for holiday, and they do it at least once a month or the most two months, the first thing he would do is call me up and meet for lunch. And he will order like five to six variety of hawker’s food and share it with his wife and children. He just wants to taste all of it, a bit here and a bit there. And after eating he will always say, “Nothing like Penang food.”
Truly, Penang is the Food Paradise of Malaysia.
