“RAMADHAN” Sunday Special

Posted in FOOD, LIFE, PICTURE TALK, MALAYSIA, SUNDAY SPECIAL on September 7th, 2008

Ramadhan  Happy Ramadhan to all our Muslim friends.

This is the month of Ramadhan, and just can’t believe what I’ve been reading. Isn’t this a time where you seek God. Isn’t this a time to forgive those who has done you wrong. Isn’t this a good time to ask for forgiveness for your wrong doings?

But what do we have? We have Ahmad Ismail refusing to apologize for the remarks about the Chinese being squatters in Malaysia during the recent Permatang Pauh by-election campaign. And if that’s not enough, he is accusing the media for making false reports about his statements.

He even claimed that his decision not to apologise for his racially inflammatory remarks has received “tremendous support” from Malay-Muslim groups. “They were flabbergasted with the emerging threats against Malay rights and privileges,” he said.

“I am surprised with the unexpected overwhelming support I had received from Malay-Muslims across the country. It seems Malays have kept back their disgruntlement for far too long and my issue had evoked their sentiments. “It is going to be a major issue now.”

I’m sure the majority of Malays-Muslims don’t feel the way Ahmad feels. I think he has killed the spirit or reason of Ramadhan. He has lost the purpose of Ramadhan!

So if he wants to continue on to stir up racial sentiments, let him be. I like to leave him alone and wish all our Muslim friends a “Happy Ramadhan,” (including Ahmad) and not let it spoil my Sunday Special and my hope for a better Malaysia.

“MERDEKA” Sunday Special

Posted in FOOD, LIFE, PICTURE TALK, MALAYSIA, SUNDAY SPECIAL on August 31st, 2008

Malaysian flag    A Happy Merdeka to all Malaysians. Ok, some may ask “What’s so happy about Merdeka?” Hmmm! A good question. Maybe it’s something for us to chew on. Is there really a “merdeka” in Malaysia? Yes, we did gain our independence from the British in 1957, but then we were hijacked by Umno/Bn. It’s just like jumping out of the frying pan into the fire. Which is worst! Until we see corruption, cronyism, nepotism being wiped out, eradication of  poverty, economy stability, the juridicial system restored, police and ACA working independently, no racial discrimination where everyonewill enjoy the same rights and privileges regardless of race or religion, then we can truly say we are independent or Merdeka! Then we can all passionately and proudly shout with one voice in unity, “MERDEKA! MERDEKA! MERDEKA!” Till then … Long live the people. Freedom to the people! RAKYAT MERDEKA!!!

Oh! By the way, I don’t know whether you noticed it or not. Not many people are flying the Malaysian flag this year. Wonder why?

Merdeka or no Merdeka, here are the specials for this Sunday:

CONGRATULATIONS!

PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim is today officially parliamentary opposition leader.

The newly-elected Permatang Pauh MP was sworn in this morning at the Dewan Rakyat

The Man is in the House. Let the clean up begins!

*************************************************

Wall -E clean up

***   ***   ***   ***   ***   ***   ***   ***   ***   ***   ***

You know what really got me thinking about Anwar Ibrahim’s landslide victory at Permatang Pauh?

To begin with, of course it’s the charisma and magnetic charm of Anwar that attracts not only the Chinese and Indians but also the Malays, and his orator skill. Eventhough, against the full force of the BN mighty machinery, all the big names from BN, all the uncalled personal attacks and allegations, the racial and sodomy issues campaigning, and all the millions of ringgit thrown in for Permatang Pauh - Anwar Ibrahim still came out victorious and unblemished. He did not hit back with personal attacks and character assassination, but stuck to the issues at hand; corruptions, the nation’s economy, injustice and defended the allegations that was thrown at him.

Next is the hard working leaders and workers and supporters from Pakatan Rakyat, namely PKR, DAP and PAS, who through rain or shine, blood, sweat and tears gave all they could to make the campaign a great success with such enthusiasm. Their passion and their belief for a better Malaysia is the real ingredients for the victory.

Then there’s the Permatang Pauh voters. They have led the way for alll Malaysians. They have matured and no more living in ‘kampong or new village or estate’ mentality. They know what is truth and lies. They know that the goodies poured upon them are to get their votes. But they will not be bought in. They rejected the phoney gifts. They can see through the real reasons behind all the goodies. They feel disgusted with the Saiful’s swearing video that was shown throughout the camapaign. They will not be taken in. They have matured. They have grown wiser through the 51 years under the BN rule. And they have grown stronger and tougher to withstand all the temptations and promises of BN

And finally, I think the real winning point of Anwar is not so much of his own doing. It was all arranged for him by the BN themselves. The arrogance and race-based politics of BN was the main reason for their defeat. And thanks to the BN campaign committee for creating their own downfall by sending people like Najib, (The Mongolia who came to kill his political career), Khairy (The Undertaker who came to bury it), and Ezam (The Traitor who tried so hard to prove to his new master that he is sincere and worthy), and many others to campaign in Permatang Pauh. They actually did not realise that they are campaigning for PKR by their presence there instead. Anwar would have won anyway, but these guys help him get a bigger majority. I really think Anwar should thank them. Maybe I should do that on behalf of all who loves Malaysia and believes justice will prevail.

YES WE SHOULD ALL THANK THE MONGOLIA, THE UNDERTAKER AND THE TRAITOR FOR HELPING ANWAR IBRAHIM MADE IT BACK TO PARLIAMENT. You guys have made it possible for him. And as for Arif Shah, I’m pretty sure he is cursing you guys for destroying his chance to be in parliament.

Again congratulations to Anwar Ibrahim. Welcome back. As the saying goes; “NEXT STOP: PUTRAJAYA!”

Way To Go, Anwar
